Serving in the Kansai area at Oasis Church and Kansai Christian School

Michael & Chris Mason - Osaka A Project of Japan Missions

The Mason's Ministry

Michael and Chris are career missionaries, serving at Oasis Church in Izumiotsu City, a suburb of Osaka, and at Kansai Christian School in Nara, Japan.

The Masons arrived in Japan in 1997, and began serving at Sakai International Bible Church. In 2001, they were installed as the head pastors of SIBC and functioned in that role until 2012 when the church transitioned to a simple-style house church. At this point the church changed it's name to Oasis Church. Michael still provides leadership to the church, especially in the areas of teaching and leading worship. To learn more about Oasis Church, please check out the video below or visit the church homepage at www.sibcjapan.com.

Chris began serving at Kansai Christian School in 2011 as a teacher's aide for the 1st-2nd grade class and as the homeroom and Bible teacher for the 5th-6th grade. In 2015, she was offered the position of full-time 1st-2nd grade teacher. She enjoys the opportunity to foster both academic and spiritual growth in her students. In addition, Michael serves as chaplain at Kansai Christian School and provides messages at the monthly all-school chapels.

Michael and Chris are also the proud parents of their son Luke, who was born in 2000.

Partnering with the Masons

While the Masons trust in the Lord to supply all of their ministry needs, they understand that the Lord uses the generosity of churches and individuals like you to enable them to serve in Japan. To this end, we ask that you might consider partnering with the Masons through the giving of your financial gift to the ministry of JEMS. Doing so will allow them to continue to share the Gospel of Jesus and build the Kingdom of God in the Kansai area.

You can also partner with the Masons through prayer. The forces against the Gospel in Japan are strong, but with your prayer support, the Lord can bring about much fruit. If you would like to pray for the Masons, their prayer letters can be found on their homepage at www.masonsinjapan.com.
